We have been so blessed to have Paula for my son's tutor. Paula is so experienced with OG and for the first time in my son's issues with dyslexia he is making such amazing strides. Her passion and excitement when working with my son and the way she engages him and gets him to participate is incredible. When my son reads something to me he will look at me and smile with such a confidence that would not have happened without the expertise of Paula and her amazing style of teaching. I highly recommend Paula!

Paula works wonders with struggling readers. She is a highly skilled Orton-Gillingham tutor and connects with her students in a way that forms trusting relationships. My son started working with Paula in 2nd grade in-person. Several months later, schools shut down for the pandemic but Paula didn't. She moved her practice online without missing a beat. Her sessions made a world of difference overall but most especially during 2020-2021 when our son was not connecting or learning well on his school's remote sessions. My son is going into 5th grade this year as a strong, confident reader who continues to make steady progress in his remote sessions with Paula. The Orton-Gillingham approach takes time, patience, and incredible knowledge of a student's progress in order to build lessons customized to the learner. Paula's expertise in O-G is profound and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor to help their struggling reader

My 12 year old daughter has been working with Paula since April 2020. They have exclusively worked together online. They meet two to three times a week during the school year and three to four times a week during the summer. My daughter had been identified with a language based reading disability prior to the pandemic and we were extremely concerned when the schools shut down in March 2020 that she would fall further and further behind. Paula has had a life changing impact on my daughter and I am so grateful that we started working with Paula when we did. She had to start with the OG basics for my daughter and they have come so far since then. Paula is enthusiastic, patient, and extremely knowledgeable about OG and everything to do with reading. She takes time to share & discuss progress with myself as the parent and answers all my questions. Cannot say enough good things and highly recommend Paula!

When I was three years old, I was diagnosed with ADHD. I struggled in the early years of school. By 8th grade, I was reading at the fourth-grade level it was when my parents found me a personal tutor, Mrs.Paula Warner to help me with my reading. With Paula's help, I became aware of my learning style. Through the course of ninth grade, I started to see success. My confidence began to grow, and with Paula's encouragement, I began to challenge myself more. I was even able to pass my English MCAS on the first try and graduated from high school. I am now in college and Paula continues to work with me to develop better study habits. My parents and I are thankful for her caring support.

Our daughter started working with Paula in March of 2016. She was in the 3rd grade and had just been diagnosed with dyslexia through an independent assessment. At the time, she was 2.5 years behind in reading. Her spelling was so poor that she would cry out in frustration when given writing assignments. She would say, “Mommy, the thoughts get stuck in my head because I can’t spell the words!” The psychologist who diagnosed her told us that unless she made significant progress in the next 12 months that she would need to go to a school specializing in teaching students with dyslexia. We were literally terrified for her future. Our daughter quickly began making progress with Paula. She would seek reassurance that she could continue to see Paula and would tell us that Paula was her “best hope”. We repeated portions of the independent testing 1 year later, and we saw significant improvements in her scores. Her score on the Gray’s Silent Reading Test (GSRT) rose from a grade equivalent of 1.0 to 3.5. We were again advised to repeat testing a year later, but this time were told that she would likely not need an outplacement. In the spring of 5th grade (2018), independent testing again showed significant improvement. She is now reading at grade-level with scores for decoding and encoding in the 70th and 68th percentiles, respectively! The GSRT showed a grade equivalent of 6.8 up from 1.0 in 2016! It was also comforting that the areas of the assessment that still showed weaknesses were related to items not yet covered with Paula, and the assessor’s recommendations were consistent with the plan that Paula had already outlined for us. Our daughter’s self-esteem has improved tremendously. She actually enjoys writing now. As other’s have attested to, Paula was able to build a strong connection with our daughter quickly. Our daughter loves seeing her, and we simply can’t thank Paula enough for everything she has done for our child.

I can’t say enough about how much Paula Warner has helped my daughter, who was diagnosed with dyslexia at the end of second grade. Paula has an amazing combination of skills, specialized knowledge, patience, honesty and enthusiasm. She developed a positive relationship right away with my daughter - something she hadn’t had with a teacher figure in years. When my daughter was “too sick” to go to school, she still wanted to go to tutoring! Paula truly understands my daughter’s reading and writing needs and customizes the tutoring to meet those specific needs. My daughter knows that Paula genuinely believes in her and will support her, when school personnel would not. Paula understands all the struggles of a dyslexic student and how they learn, and that makes it safe for them to try again. Paula has not only taught my daughter real skills and strategies with real results, but has fostered self-confidence. I’m so grateful for the help she has given my daughter and the guidance and support she has given me as well.

I have been working with Paula for over a year now. I am an adult with dyslexia and ADD, as well as executive function issues. She has helped me tremendously. Paula has helped me to create systems in my home and life that help me with daily tasks that used to overwhelm me and never got done. She is willing to come to my home and assess what systems are working and what needs tweeking. Paula never makes me feel stupid and never lets me put myself down. This has helped me to improve my self-esteem. She is always loving, kind and supportive of the process. I have grown leaps and bounds with her help. Now, after her help, I need her a lot less because she has given me the tools to have a successful life. Now, I have the confidence and the skills to manage my life with minimal support, and rarely feel overwhelmed.

I like reading with Mrs. Warner because she plays lots of games with me which helps me remember the rules. I never get upset during my reading time like I do at school. Mrs Warner says I can read at my own pace and that is OK.

Paula is a great teacher, she can help guide you on the path to overcoming your dyslexia. As a student that has worked with Paula for a year and three quarters I would highly recommend her.

Paula took on a big challenge teaching my teenage son. She had to adapt her curriculum to a different level as most students are in elementary school. She was very knowledgable and established a very good rapport with my son. He enjoyed spending time at lessons (homework not so much). We would highly recommend Paula. - Her instruction helped my son's spelling and written expression. After 1.75 years instruction he went from struggling to write a paragraph or page to being able to write a ten page paper in a night (grade=A). - She was vested in my sons progress - She had a well planned curriculum - She was adaptable to our families needs and schedule - The results evident in his work We would whole heartedly recommend Paula.

We had the good fortune to meet Paula early in the 2011/2012 school year through various parent meetings throughout the Westford School system. Paula began working with our son in April 2012 and he has seen tremendous improvement in both his reading fluency and his comprehension. Paula made it a point to really get to know our son, his likes and dislikes, what motivates him, what does not and as a result he is happy to attend his tutoring sessions. Most importantly, our son sees his improvements and while he has always enjoyed books, he is now even more eager to read new books and share his reading with his family.

Paula's passion and investment into our son's learning challenges is amazing. She became an advocate at a time when we felt alone, thus calming our nerves and granting us peace. As a result of her skilled work, our son has moved forward two grades in reading and has a new confidence in approaching his schoolwork. Thank you, Paula.

My seventh grade son had been tutored since first grade twice a week at our home but started OG with Paula a year ago. He has also been on an IEP with our public school since third grade and attended a small private school in second grade. My husband and I were hoping the smaller classroom in a private school would make a difference. It did not. We started a year ago with Paula and for me she has been a huge support. She is knowledgeable, resourceful, honest, and endlessly positive. My son is a happy boy who usually lets things roll off his back. He has been a hard worker but as with any commitment times get tough. He rarely minds going to work with her as she is consistent, kind, patient and positive with him. When driving home from a session with her one day I started asking him the usual questions; how was school, how was this, how was that, how was Paula today? I got the typical response "fine" but in the course of conversation he said "Paula is the only one that has helped me" This was great to hear although, I hope I have helped in some way too. :) My son continues to see Paula twice a week. The success and feeling of confidence that our efforts and our commitment are being rewarded is priceless. Thank you Paula!

Paula is a true professional. My son improved from a 2nd to 5th grade level in a year and a half. Having the right instruction is the solution to the problem. Paula developed an excellent rapport with my child allowing him to learn in a friendly, nonjudgmental environment. I highly recommend her.
